FAQ's - Who can work on Short Sales

Who can work on Short Sales FAQ's?:

  • Can a short sale be completed by the average person?

o   In years past a real estate short sale should only have been completed by a seasoned professional that worked full time investing in, and consulting on real estate. However, we live in a new era where short sales are in vogue and lenders need to liquidate bad debt, making them more inclined to work with anyone that is able to present them with a systematic, complete short sale package that allows them to more easily make a decision. However, lenders are becoming inundated with short sale requests from unqualified applicants and you may only have one shot at successfully submitting a complete short sale package or run the risk of being put to the back of a very long line and not taken seriously. The good news is that the average person can complete a short sale with the right guidance. With enough good information and tools to serve as coaching and with the right short sale documents, even rocket science can be broken down into laymen terms. Fortunately for us, negotiating a short sale isn’t rocket science and we still offer all of the aforementioned resources, making short sale negotiations possible for the average person with no prior real estate experience.

  • Why doesn’t SBSSS negotiate short sales for a fee?

o   StepByStepShortSale was developed and created as a result of the foreclosure and housing epidemic we’re currently experiencing. If we personally negotiated short sales for clients we wouldn’t be able to help nearly as many property owners, consultants, or Realtors that are in need. Therefore, we’ve invested considerable resources to offer the masses the very first online, step-by-step guide for everyone from the average Joe or Jane to the seasoned veteran the opportunity to work on and successfully negotiate real estate short sales. We strive to enable our clients with good, useful information so that they can successfully negotiate their own short sales.

  • Can I have a Realtor or Attorney help me with this process if I become a SBSSS Member?

o   Of course. While StepByStepShortSale’s process and services have been designed so that the average person can successfully complete short sale negotiations by themselves, we have also designed specific packages and tailored service plans for Realtors and Investor Consultants. In fact, there are times when you may actually want a third person to be negotiating on your behalf with your lender, even if that third party is a friend or family member. Other times it may be beneficial to have a Realtor or your attorney assist you in your StepByStepShortSale package. However, in all situations you want to make sure the person negotiating the short sale has read our E-Book and is familiar with all aspects of the short sale negotiation process.

  • I’m worried that I can’t do this alone! What are my options?

o   First, try not to worry; we really have designed a step-by-step process that the average person with no real estate experience can follow and be successful at. Likewise, we offer guides filled with good information and tools to serve as coaching, documents, and calculations that will assist you in your short sale negotiations. If after reviewing the entire site, including all of our member only resources, if you’re still worried you can’t do this alone then we implore you to hire a short sale Realtor or Consultant. However, for the greatest likelihood of success, we strongly recommend that you have your short sale Realtor or Consultant follow our proven step-by-step short sale process as it will offer the greatest likelihood for success.
